GRAMMY 2025 Brings Success for GZ Media
Hundreds of people across all GZ Media operations were involved in the development and production of the product. “We are genuinely delighted that our client Universal Music and project initiator Sean Ono Lennon have won the most prestigious music award for the album packaging. This project represented another major milestone for us in terms of complexity and intricacy,” says Michal Štěrba, CEO and board member of GZ Media, the world’s largest producer of vinyl records. He adds: “Receiving a GRAMMY for a product we manufactured is a great honor and a confirmation that Czech craftsmanship and our innovative solutions can stand up to global competition.”
The entire project required a fully customized approach. The primary challenge for GZ Media was to create a sophisticated set of multiple differently sized boxes, which together form a compact work of art. “Thanks to the precision, creativity, and skill of our colleagues, we managed to meet even the most demanding customer requirements. The final product consists of a main box made up of nine smaller boxes and nearly a hundred premium printed materials. This exclusive package consists of ten vinyl records, including two picture discs, one hologram vinyl, and several heavyweight vinyl pressings. The packaging also features unique merchandise for music fans,” explains Jiří Hašek, Director of the Music Division at GZ Media. The product incorporates numerous technical innovations and original solutions and consists of dozens of components and hundreds of details. Notably, both Sean Ono Lennon and Yoko Ono were directly involved in its creation.
The uniqueness of the project is further highlighted by the assembly process. “To achieve the highest level of cleanliness and precision, we created a special isolated workspace resembling a research facility. Our team worked in protective suits and gloves to minimize dust and ensure the highest possible quality of the final product,” concludes Jiří Hašek.
